A Week of 1-Minute Mindful Moments for Childcare Providers
Being present in the moment doesn't require long meditation sessions or elaborate rituals. As busy childcare providers, we can find small pockets of peace throughout our day with these simple one-minute practices - perfect for those moments between activities or during transitions.
Here's a week's worth of quick mindfulness exercises that you can easily weave into your daily routine:
Wednesday 1/15: Step outside during naptime and take 3 very deep breaths of air.
Thursday, 1/16: When you wake up, commit to drinking one glass of water before you look at your phone.
Friday, 1/17: Practice “rainbow breathing” - slowly trace a rainbow shape in the air while breathing deeply.
Saturday, 1/18: Take a “sensory minute” - name one thing you can see, hear, feel, and smell right now.
Sunday, 1/19: Write down one thing you’re grateful for and post it in a place you’ll see it.
Monday, 1/20: Do 5 shoulder rolls when you sit down for storytime or an activity with a child.
Tuesday, 1/21: Gently stretch your wrists and fingers while you are waiting for parents at pickup time.
